The process of wound healing starts immediately after a tissue injury. Wound repair process involves a
complex interactions between multiple biochemical cascades. The inflammation, proliferative and extracellular
matrix remodeling phases are sequential steps that occur through the integration of dynamic processes. Acute
and chronic wounds are controlled by several molecular mechanisms that synergistically regulate cell kinetics,
enzymatic functions, and neurovascular activation. This review paper focuses on the pivotal roles of several
key developmental signaling pathways (Growth factors, Hedgehog, Wnt and Notch) involved in wound healing process and regeneration of tissues.
