The present investigation is aimed to synthesized Nelumbo nucifera seed extract fabricated silver nanoparticles using the simple bio-reduction method. The synthesized nanoparticles showed the characteristic UV-vis absorption peak between 420- 435nm due to the plasmon resonance of nanoparticles. The FTIR analysis depicts the bonds, involved in stabilizing and encapsulating the nanoparticle. The diameter of the nanoparticles was found in the range between 10nm -30nm using Dynamic light scattering. Zeta potential was measured using a zeta nano sizer to determine the stability of the nanoparticle and it was found to be-30mV. Further, the structure of the nanoparticle was analyzed by TEM. The nanoparticles thus synthesized are screened for antimicrobial activity against bacterial pathogens using the well diffusion method. The nanoparticles were also evaluated for the efficacy of biofilm inhibition using biofilm inhibition assay.
