Employing neurosciences and timely applications of these sciences and their sub-disciplines, as well as familiarity with their mutual relationships has greatly contributed to the development of science. Integrative application of neuroscience, psychology and architecture has resulted in the development of a new science called “neuroarchitecture” or “neuro-centric architecture”. This research was performed with the purpose of addressing this new trend with a qualitative research method and a descriptive-analytical method based on the study and analysis of library archives. To this end, research background and definitions are first reviewed to provide basic information on neuroscience, spirituality, and spiritual architecture. The application of neuroscience in promoting a sense of spirituality in spiritual buildings is then discussed, and ultimately, the factors influencing the perception of sense of spirituality are presented and the ways in which neuroscience can be effective in designing spiritual buildings are discussed by proposing an analytical model.
