The poor drug solubility is a major challenge for many of drug formulations because the poorly water soluble drugs have many problems associated with conventional dosage forms, such as low bioavailability. The field of nanotechnology has grown in recent years to solve of solubility and bioavailability problems. As a result, the objective of this the research was to improve the solubility of ramipril (RAM), a drug that is poorly water soluble, by using nanosponges based on cyclodextrin which are a kind of nanotechnology shaped by reacting with appropriate cross-linker agents with the cyclodextrin. In this study, diphenyl carbonate and ß- cyclodextrin were used to prepare ramipril loaded nanosponge .
The method of Higuchi and Connors was used to draw diagrams of phase solubility which then were used to calculate the apparent stability and complexity values. The results had shown that ramipril's aqueous solubility was improved significantly by using nanosponge in comparison with plain ramipril.
