The causes and potential solutions of teenage pregnancy

| Abstract:
|
Teenage pregnancy is an important health problem. The incidence rate of unplanned pregnancy in Thai
teenager is continuously rising in last twenty years. This problem is the result of changing of several factors
such as personal factors, problem in family relationship, socioeconomic status and globalization, which causing
them to have complications in many aspects such as biological, psychological and social aspects. The strategies
were advised for problem solving, which are sex education development, improving teen counseling center,
providing supportive network for teenage pregnancy and enhancing awareness and attitude in using
appropriate social network. This solution may decrease teenage pregnancy rate including rate of unsafe sexual
behaviors.
