Hydrotropy A Promising Technique for Enhancing Solubility of Poorly Soluble Drugs

Author: C EZHILAN, DR NAGASAMYVENGATESH, ABHIJITH, PRANESH
Abstract: A successful formulation of drug depends on efficiency of the formulation available at the site of action. Therapeutic effect of the drug depends upon bioavailability, pharmacological action and the solubility of the drug molecules. The enchantment of poorly soluble drugs is a challenge for pharmaceutical researchers. Hydrotropy solubilisation is one of the best technique as it does not require chemical modification, use of organic solvents. This paper discusses various factors that affect solubility effect using hydrotropy, mechanism used for formulation, its usage in oral delivery.
Keyword: Solubilisation, Hydrotropes, permeability, structure breaker, structure maker.
