Melastoma malabathricum L has a variety of different regional names depending on where it is found and is used primarily for medicinal purposes. Objective of this research is to determine the antioxidant activity of methanol extract of fructus, flos and calyx of Senggani (Melastoma malabathricum L) and amount of their total phenolic and flavonoid content. the method used in this research is The extract was screened for possible antioxidant activities by free radical scavenging (DPPH) method. The results of this study showed that the plant parts used (flos, fructus and calyx) have antioxidant activity which is associated with their total phenolic and flavonoid content. The flos extract of Senggani (Melastoma malabathricum L) is more effective than the fructus and calyx. This study shows that the flos, fructus and calyx of Senggani (Melastoma malabathricum L) have great potential as antioxidants, can be used as a source of nutrition, and have medicinal functions.
