Ramipril is potent ACE inhibitors long acting available clinically ordered once every day , using to treatment the heart failure and all types of hypertension but the poor solubility restricts its application and function. As a result, the objective of this study in attempt to solve the above restrictions , was to encapsulate the ramipril by ß-cyclodextrin – based nanosponges (NS).
To produce nanosponges , diphenyl carbonate was cross-linked in various molar ratios with ß-cyclodextrin 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, and 1:5. The freeze-drying process was used to load ramipril (RAM) onto plain nanosponge . The results showed the nanosponges' particle sizes were ranged from 163.9 to643.4 nm, with a low polydispersity index. The
solubilisation of RAM has also been monitored and found to be reinforced by 2.56 folds with the ß-CDNS1:3 in distilled water. In addition, for characterization of nanosponges RAM the zeta potential and X-ray diffraction were performed. Spectral analytical results showed the creation of inclusion complexes.
