In Vietnamese, Curcuma aromatica Salisb. (white turmeric) is known as “Nghe Trang” or “Ngai Trang”. This
research was conducted to learn more about the white turmeric species in Vietnam. The study focuses on C.
aromatica's antibacterial activity against various bacterial strains. The extract from C. aromatica was found to be
effective at inhibiting the growth of gram-positive bacteria such as Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus cereus,
Rhodococcus equi, and Staphylococcus aureus. However, the C. aromatica crude extract did not inhibit the Gramnegative bacteria Escherichia coli.
