An accurate, simple, and reproducible liquid chromatographic method was developed and validated for the determination of Berberine in nanoparticles. The analysis was performed at ambient temperature on a reversed-phase C18 column with UV detection at 289 nm. The mobile phase was freshly prepared 50mM potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer (pH 3.0 adjusted using orthophosphoric acid): acetonitrile in a ratio of 70:30 v/v used at a constant flow rate of 1 ml/min. The method was validated in terms of linearity, precision, accuracy, and specificity. The response was linear in the range of 10-50 µg/ml (r2 = 0.9964). The relative standard deviations for intra- and inter-day precision studies were found to be less than 2% which indicates method is precise.
