Abstract:

Aim: To systematically assess the complications in vacuum delivery.
Methods: PubMed, Science direct, and Google scholar databases were searched until June, 2018, to include relevant studies in this single-arm meta-analysis. Selected article’s quality assessment was done by New Castle-Ottawa Scale
Results: A total of 12 studies were included. Comprehensive meta-analysis software was used to find out the complications in vacuum delivery. The indications, maternal and neonatal outcomes were then sorted.
Conclusions: Our results suggest that vacuum delivery is an effective and well tolerated technique and would be a safe and convenient option to assist a complicated vaginal delivery.
