Toxicity Test of the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) Method of the Kebiul Seed Fraction (Caesalpinia Bonduc (L). Roxb)

Abstract: Kebiul seeds (Caesalpinia bonduc (L) Roxb) are widely scattered in the province of Bengkulu. The experience of the people of Bengkulu. Kebiul seed (Caesalpinia bonduc (L) Roxb) is used for various diseases used hereditary. Based on research conducted that the Kebiul seed extract contains secondary metabolite compounds in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and steroids. Some of the plant compounds that have anti-cancer potentials have been examined: alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and efficacious triterpenoids as antioxidants that can ward off free radicals. methods BSLT is used as a method of anti-cancer with the value of LD50. The purpose of this research is to find out the toxicity test using the BSLT method of the Kebiul seed ethanol extract fraction (Caesalpinia bonduc (L) Roxb). The method of making the extract with maceration and evaporated with rotator, then fractionations by using three solvents based on the efficacy of polar (aqua dest), non-polar (n-Heksan), and semipolar (ethyl acetate). Metode BSLT using shrimp larva is made into 6 concentrations (1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 ppm) and negative control that contains only artificial seawater. Test results in the fraction of N-Hexsan of the Kebiul seed with a variation of concentration 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 ppm then obtained the value OF LC50 of 34.1784 ppm. In the ethyl acetate fraction with a concentration variation of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 ppm, the result of LC50 was obtained by 6.38856 PPM. In the aqua dest fraction with concentrations of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 ppm, the result of LC50 was obtained by 0.0001 ppm.
