Adherence to Project Management Frameworks (PMFs) has been described as having an impact on the success of projects. However, most of the literature is anecdotal without empirical evidence to support this claim. This study thus adopts the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) theory to determine the success of projects and investigates if the adoption of PMFs leads to project success. The study also explores if Culture moderates the
relationship between PMFs adoption and Project Success. Quantitative survey data of 365 were collected from
certified project managers, consultants, and other stakeholders responsible for project management. The analysis was done through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SMartPLS 3. The findings indicate that indeed PMFs adoption has a significant impact on Project Success. Also, Culture
moderates the relationship between PMFs and Project Success. This study contributes to the body of knowledge by providing empirical evidence back with a novel statistical analysis to confirm the phenomenon under investigation from a developing country context. Practically, the study has given us insights that
managers should not focus on adhering to best practices in PMFs only but also take care of Culture which can affect the success of projects.
