Effect of high-intensity exercise on blood glucose level

Abstract:

Diabetes prevalence is increasing and has become one of the significant deaths causes worldwide. Physical
exercise is well known as physical therapy to maintain the blood glucose level in the human body. Highintensity training as cardio training is chosen to show the significant value of physical therapy. This study
investigated participants' blood sugar levels before and after physical exercise of the 20-m Shuttle-Run Test
(20-m SRT) and Harvard Step Test (HST). The population was male college students from Sports and Health
Faculty Medan State University with varying ages 20-25 and normal BMI 18.25-25. The results showed
increasing post blood glucose value for both 20-m SRT and HST with all data was different significant p < 0.05.
