Abstract:

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune disease with primary manifestations in the diarthrodial
(movable) joints. Patients in early stage of Rheumatoid arthritis have nonspecific muscoskeletal symptoms
which may not be detected by plain radiography. Rheumatologists shows high level of acceptance for
Ultrasonic (US) as diagnostic tool to determine activity and severity of RA. Ultrasound is found to be
preferably conventional method to detect bone erosion, where Grey scale ultrasound gives a clear ultrasonic
image of musculoskeletal rheumatoid arthritis. Ultrasound plays a vital role in determination of arthritis, as its
completely free of radiation, cost effective and implies non-invasive techniques
