Boerhaavia diffusa (B. diffusa (family: Nyctaginaceae)) is a perennial creeping plant with spreading branches with rough and tapered roots. B. diffusa has good agricultural and medicinal traditions, but is particularly vulnerable to different diseases. It's among the ancient traditional medicine for treatment for different diseases in Ayurveda. The different extracts of B. diffusa have been recorded for a reservoir for various phytochemical stochastic therapeutic properties with multiple ethnopharmacological actions. The plant B. diffusa is commonly employed in the management of anti-inflammatory, immunostimulant, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, antifungal, anti-proliferative, antiestrogenic, analgesic, antibacterial and other ethnopharmacological applications among local people and medical practitioners. This study centred on the conventional applications of B. diffusa, phytochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology to encourage the future reach for advanced ethnopharmacological studies.
