A Case Report on Bullous Fixed Drug Eruption

Abstract:
|
Bullous Fixed Drug Eruption is a rare cutaneous adverse drug reaction which appears as hyper pigmented
plaque that reoccurs as one or few lesions always in fixed locations upon ingestion of the drug. FDE was well
reported in children and adolscents but was rare in elderly and very few reports were available. The present
case was a report of 65 years old female patient diagnosed as Paracetamol induced Bullous FDE. The patient
developed Erythematous Maculopapular rash dispersed over the trunk, abdomen and both the lower limbs.
After cessation of drug, Rashes desiccated slowly leaving exfoliations.She was administered with antihistamines,
emollients and corticosteroids during her stay in the hospital. Maculopapular rashes was reduced and patient
recovered by the end of treatment.
