A Novel Framework for Analysing Online Healthcare Information with Text mining Techniques

Author: M.SURYAPRABHA , DR.B.SAROJINI
Abstract: Online healthcare communities used by patients and health seekers to get valuable information about their diseases and health-related information. In this community, the users post the messages related to health issues, diseases, symptoms, treatments undertaken, their emotions and their experience on usage of some drugs. These enormous volumes of messages if analysed, will be useful to identify the percentage of contribution by the stakeholders of the discussion forums and the topic that was widely discussed. Three discussion boards are Miscarriages, Ovarian cyst and Breast cancer are taken up for this study. Text pre-processing techniques are applied to extract keywords and Content analysis methods are used to identify the stakeholders and topics. K-medoid Clustering technique is applied for forming the cluster groups. The cluster groups are validated using Randindex similarity and Jaccard similarity.
Keyword: Healthcare community, Text mining, Clustering, Stack holder analysis, Topic Analysis.
