Orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) is a response to the external applied force which results in pathological,
physiological and biological changes in the tissues surrounding. As a response to the external force there will
be an inflammatory reaction seen in osteoblast, osteoclast, neuropeptides, cytokines and also, we can observe
change in innervation and local vascularization. Knowing this in detail will help clinicians to provide optimum
orthodontic treatment and to opt the best distinct therapeutic approach for an individual patient. This paper
will try to give an insight on factors influencing Orthodontic tooth movement.
