Lansau is a traditional folk medicine of the Muna tribe, which consists of 44 medicinal plants. Lansau has been
used to overcome metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease
characterized by hyperglycemia due to abnormalities in insulin secretion. It is characterized by a progressive
change in the histopathological structure of the pancreatic Langerhans islets. This study aims to determine the
effect of ethanol extract of Lansau concoction on blood-glucose-lowering and the histopathological changes of
the pancreas in glucose-induced male Wistar rats. Rats were divided into six treatment groups, the normal
controls group, the positive control group (K (+)), the negative control group (K (-)), the dose group 6.907
mg/kg BW(LS I), the dose group 13.814 mg/kg BW (LS II), and the dose group 27.628 mg/kg BW (LS III). The
results showed that the ethanol extract of lansau reduced the fasting blood glucose levels of diabetic rats, and
repaired endocrine cells' morphology on Langerhans islands. The dose of Lansau showed a decrease in fasting
blood glucose levels, and a repair in the morphology of the pancreatic Langerhans islets was 13.814 mg/kg BW
