Vitamin B12 efficacy in management of bipolar disorders: An update review

Abstract: Psychosis is known to be a widespread disruptive manifestation of multiple psychiatric, neurological and medical disorders. Moreover, it’s an essential criterion for neurological and psychiatric assessment and treatment. Bipolar disorder is among the prevalent diseases all over the world it was associated with a substantial risk of death. This work summarized the causes of bipolar disorder and the mechanism of disturbances associated with it. It gave an overview about the main lines of medical treatment of bipolar disorders. It focused on the relation between nutrition and psychotic and bipolar disorder. It summarized the effects of vitamin B12 and neuronal health and the established link between vitamin B12 and psychosis and bipolar disorder.
