The goal is to study the comparative characteristics of the morphometric parameters of the small intestine in
normal conditions and under the influence of cotoran, through breast milk. Materials and methods. The object
of the study was 120 white outbred rats, from the birth till 1, 30, 60 and 90 days. The rats of the experimental
group are pups from the offspring of a mother rat, who received daily a solution of cotoran at a dose of 5
MLU intragastrically for 20 days. The effect of cotoran on rats of the experimental group through the mother's
milk was evaluated. Results. Studies have shown that the morphometric parameters of the mesenteric part of
the small intestine lag behind in 30-day-old rats more, compared to 60 and 90 days of age. Conclusions. The
results of the experiments showed that when exposed to the herbicide cotoran, there is a noticeable lag in the
anatomical parameters of the small intestine. Comparative analysis revealed a more pronounced lag in wall
thickness, villus height, crypt depth in 30-day-old rats compared with 60 and 90-day-old rats at the stage of
postnatal development.
