A new, simple, sensitive and fast developed method was used for the determination of cobalt (II) ion in alloy by
using continuous flow injection analysis. This method is based on reaction between cobalt (II) ion and
potassium hexacyanoferrate (III) in acidic medium to obtain a brownish red precipitate. Optimum parameters
was studied to increase the sensitivity for developed method. The linear range for calibration graph was 0.05-
33 mmol.L-1 for cell A and 1-30 mmol.L-1 for cell B, and LOQ 85.6275 µg /140 µL for cell A and 168.6508 µg
/281 µL for cell B respectively with correlation coefficient (r) 0.9961 for cell A and 0.9948 for cell B, RSD %
was lower than 2%, (n=8) for the determination of cobalt (II) ion at concentration 10, 20 mmol.L-1
respectively to cell A and cell B. The results were compared with classical method UV-VISSpectrophotometric at ? max=512 nm by using the standard addition method via the use of t-test, at 95%
confidence level. The method was applied successfully for the determination of cobalt (II) ion in two different
alloys.
