Abstract:

Kushtha is one among the Ashtamahagad explained in Ayurveda as there is structural changes in appearance of skin. There are two main types of kushtha i.e. Mahakushtha and Kshudra kushtha.
Vicharchika is a type of kshudra kushtha in which symptoms like pidika, kandu, shyavata, raji and rukshta etc. are seen. As per Acharya Sushruta the dosha involved in vicharchika is Pitta. Raktamokshana is indicated in treatment of pittaja and raktaja vyadhi. So a case study of patient of vicharchika successfully treated by Pracchanna karma followed by Arka taila application along with internal medicine is presented here.
