Synthesis And Biological Evaluation Of Heterocyclic Schiff Bases: A Review

Author: JITENDRA.N.BORASE, R.G.MAHALE, S.S.RAJPUT
Abstract: The present review focuses on the synthesis of Heterocyclic Schiff bases derived from the condensation of aliphatic and aromatic aldehyde with aromatic amines or hetero aromatic amines containing catalytic amount of acid. Compare to the aliphatic aldehyde, the aromatic aldehyde Schiff bases are more stable due to conjugation or ring current and they shows wide range of biological activities and the different derivatives of Schiff bases are also use in Co-ordination chemistry are discussed briefly in this review. From this review article researcher got the idea of formation of novel class of Ortho and Para substituted Schiff base derivatives is useful for the preparation crystal and these synthesized crystals of Schiff bases shows broad range of microbiological activities mainly antifungal, antibacterial, antioxidant and also used as intermediates in many reactions in pharmaceutical industries.
Keyword: Aromatic aldehyde, Heterocyclic aromatic amine, Ethanol, Acetic acid, Co-ordination Chemistry etc.
