Returning Migrant Worker: Issues And Protection During The Covid-19 Pandemic In Indonesia

Abstract: Pandemic COVID-19 caused a vulnerability for migrant workers. Loss of job access and difficulties in renewing work permits require them to return to their home country. This article aims to explain the problems and protection efforts made by the Government to immigrant workers who return to Indonesia. This method of research uses qualitative methods. The results showed that migrant worker problems include the limitations of economic access, stigmatization as a virus bearer, a weak social safety net—prevention efforts of virus propagation by migrant workers.
