This article presents biochemical markers and clinical laboratory reasons for predicting preterm labor in
urogenital infections. Premature birth (PB) is one of the main pathologies in obstetrics and neonatology.
Perinatal mortality and morbidity rates depend on preterm birth. According to numerous studies, almost half
of the causes of preterm birth are due to infection, especially with urogenital infections. Prematurity, which
affects almost 10% of pregnancies worldwide, is the most significant cause of perinatal mortality or morbidity,
predicting their causes using biochemical markers and timely antibiotic therapy started, prevents purulent
septic complications in the postpartum period, both in women and in newborns.
