Evaluation of proper use of metered dose inhaler by adult patients who suffers asthma

Author: , , MAITHAM ALI AL-RIKABI
Abstract: The proper use of inhalers for asthma patients is essential to maximize the medications' benefits and improve patient outcomes. The present article discusses the effect of the inhaler technique and how individuals can assist medical practitioners in improving their technique. Thus, asthma patient education programs and instructions are critical for the correct use of medication inhalers. This study, conducted in the city of Thi Qar on 96 asthma patients, shows that a high percentage of patients had vague instructions in their use of inhalers, therefore benefits from medication might be minimized due to the improper use of these inhalers. Finally, teaching strategies and actions to improve patient education using inhalers could substantially reduce health problem cases. Inhaler usage issues are discussed, with guidelines for methods and procedures to help inform patients in the use of inhalers.
