Introduction: Recent studies have proved the biomedical applications of nano-sized cerium oxide due to
their typical physicochemical properties and particularly cytoprotective potential due to antioxidant properties.
Methods: Cerium oxide nanoparticles in the present study were synthesized using Sapindus Mukorossi extract
and were characterized using SEM, XRD, and FTIR. Synthesized particles were evaluated for in vitro antioxidant
and proton pump inhibition and in vivo antiulcerogenic activity.
Results: Decrease in ulcer index, inhibition of H+K+ATPase and antioxidant potential was identified.
Conclusion: Nanoparticles revealed potential cytoprotective and antiulcerogenic activity in Wistar rats.
