Abstract: Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a group of lung diseases manifested by continuous and prolonged airway obstruction that is usually progressive and associated with an enhanced chronic inflammatory response in the airways and the lung to toxic particles or gases. Results: In this prospective study, prescriptions of 126 patients were selected. Out of total patients, 71 (56.35%) were males and 55(43.65%) were females. Out of total patients 61(48.41%) have co morbidities. Oral route was most common route of administration of drugs in the study. Methyl prednisolone, Hydrocortisone, Dexamethazone were used in equal number. of patients 2(1.59%) followed by Cetrizine 14 (11.11%) ,Tiotropium 19 (15.07%),Ipratropium which was used in 8 (6.34%) patients, followed by cefotaxime 20 (15.87%) followed by Amoxicilline and clavulanic acid used in 9 (7.14%) patients Conclusion: The prescribing trend observed in the study appears to be in concordance with the current GOLD guidelines for the management of COPD patients.
