Introduction: Osteoporosis is a bone disease where bones have lost density or mass. Due to the severe side effects of pharmaceutical agents, it is recommended to take fruits and vegetables to inhibit osteoporosis. With the increase in side effects of allopathy medicines, new alternative medicines are in the arena towards the development of new drugs. Plants are a rich source of metabolites which serve the purpose.
Objective: The main objective of this research is to identify the lead molecules present in the red onion to treat osteoporosis.
Methods: The inhibitory potential of red onion towards osteoporosis has been analysed computationally, using the software Discovery Studio 2.0.
Results: The present studies show that Cyanidin 3-O-(6’- malonylglucoside) as a lead molecule towards the inhibition of osteoporosis.
