C. roseus is one of the medically important plants known for anticancer activities due to presence of diverse metabolites. Due to harsh environments, the level of metabolites is limited in the plants. In this, we have analyzed the flowers of C. roseus to determine the phytocomponents in methanol-chloroform and water mixture (1:1:1) extract. GC-MS analysis of the flowers extracts was performed to determine the possible metabolites present in white and pink flowers. Around 38 compounds in white flower and 28 in pinks were detected. Based on our findings, it is evident that some compounds (1, 2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, isodecyl octyl ester, eicosanol and celidoniol, deoxy) belong to white and pink flowers have the great extent of medically important activities may be used as a drug to combat against some ailments.
