Author: AFKAR FADHIL KAREEM, FARHAN.L.AAIZ, LUAY ABDULWAHID SHIHAB
Abstract: The aim of this study was to check the level of Internet addiction among middle school students and to determine the level of Internet addiction according to different variables. The study was designed using a survey form. Participants in the study were 300 middle school students who were randomly chosen from different social and economic areas during the 2019-2020 academic year. Data were obtained through an Internet addiction measure. Descriptive statistics were used using the Mann Whitney and Kruskal -Wallis H tests for data analysis. The results revealed low levels of internet addiction for middle school students along with the potential risks of internet addiction. Moreover, differences between the level of Internet addiction, class level, level of maternal education, smart phone ownership and mobile Internet access were found to be statistically significant.
