Aim: The plan of the current study is to assess the effect of Some Bioactive Flavonoids on Lysosomal Enzymes in Chronic Inflammatory Models in Rats.
Material & Methods: Two bioactive flavonoids i.e. Luteolin and Luteolin 7-O-glucoside were purchased from Sigma Aldrich. Their toxicity studies were performed to calculate the dose for further pharmacological evaluation. Arthritis for the chronic inflammatory condition was developed by a single injection of FCA in rats and various biophysical parameters i.e. paw volume, body weight, and Polyarthritic index were calculated. For the evaluation of chronic inflammatory conditions, various biochemical parameters were also accessed at the end of the study. Result: The luteolin and luteolin 7-O-glucosides significantly inhibit the paw volume and augmented the body weight. The comparison of the treated group was done with respect to arthritic rats. They also significantly augmented the stage of glutathione and modulate the level of other biochemical parameters.
Conclusion: These components could serve as lead molecules for the development of prospective anti-inflammatory agents in chronic inflammatory conditions. The current discoveries are critical for the improvement of option, reasonable, and maybe more secure procedures for the treatment of sicknesses.
