A sensitive and simple method has been developed for the determination of propranolol hydrochloride in drugs by continuous flow injectionanalysis. The method was based on the reaction of the propranolol hydrochloride with tetra pheny borate to form white precipitate, using homemade ISNAG- fluorimeter. All variables were optimized. The linear dynamic range for propranolol hydrochloride concentration was 0.008- 10 mmol/L while the L.O.D was 147.9 µg/sample. The correlation coefficient (r) was 0.99949 while percentage linearity (R2%) was 99.88%. RSD% for the repeatability (n=6) was lower than 0.5 % for the determination of propranolol hydrochloride, with concentration of 5, 8 mmol/L respectively. The developed method was applied successfully for the determination of propranolol hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preparation. A comparison was made between the developed method and the classical method of analysis using the standard addition method via the use of paired t-test. It was noticed that there was no significant difference between two methods at 95 % confidence level.
