Synthesis of 3-(1H-azole-1-yl)propane-1,2-diols and their use in the synthesis of biologically active 2,2-disubstituted 4-(azole-1-ylmethyl)-1,3-dioxolanes

Author: V.S.TALISMANOV, S.V. POPKOV, ?.G. KARMANOVA, S.S.ZYKOVA, M.V.SHUSTOV
Abstract: 3-(1H-Azol-1-yl)propan-1,2-diols were obtained by three alternative synthetic pathways such as hydrolysis of 4-(1H-azol-1-ylmethyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxalanes, Wagner oxidation of 1-allyl-1H-azoles and condensation of glycidol with azoles. The 4-(azole-1-ylmethyl)-1,3-dioxolanes can be synthesized by reaction of 3-(1H-azole-1-yl)propan-1,2-dioles with ketones and exhibit various types of bioactivity.
Keyword: 1-allyl-1H-azoles, glycidol, diols, 1,3-dioxolane, imidazole, 1,2,4-triazole, Wagner reaction.
