Background: Job satisfaction is an essential factor for successful practice. Dentistry has evolved as a profession, offering a wide range of services, from preventive to complex rehabilitation of the orofacial region.
Aim: To evaluate job satisfaction amongst dental practitioner in Al Kharj region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Methodology: A questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey among dentists working in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia. A total of 123 forms were distributed directly to the dentist working in the area. Statistical analysis were carried out using IBM SPSS version. Comparison of variables was done by using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the two-sample t-tests.
Results: About 48.88% of the dentist were satisfied with overall professional satisfaction, 12.22% were dissatisfied, and 38.88% had a neutral response. The total career score in relation to income, patient and professional relations, respect and personal time were statistically significant, followed by the delivery of care. Overall professional satisfaction, patient relations was the most significant factor.
Conclusion: The professional satisfaction amongst dentist showed more satisfied practitioner then neutral followed by few dissatisfied dentists. Dentists with Masters/Ph.D. degrees were more satisfied than the others. Males were more satisfied compared to females regarding personal time, and female dentists were more confident with respect.
