Mental Health Disorders in Marital Relationship: A Review of Sudha Murty’s Fictional Characters

Abstract: Family problems, especially between husband and wife, cause severe damage in mental health. Sudha Murty, one of India’s eminent life coach and creator of numerous fictional characters prone to mental pressure in family, portrays such family problems explicitly in her novels. Her characters undergo a kind of mental ailment in their conjugal relationships due to various issues. Sudha Murty — through her fictional characters — tries to pass some social message to the community for their betterment. The aim of this review article is to trace the reasons for mental health disorders of female characters in their conjugal relationships with reference to the select novel of Sudha Murty.
