A Review on Selected Herbs as Skin Care Cosmetics

Abstract: The idea of beauty and cosmetics originates from prehistoric mankind humanity and herbal cosmetics are often frequently known to as natural ingredient. Skin care cosmetics are phytochemical formulations from a number of botanical sources that affect skin functions and provide vitamins needed for healthy skin. The various herbs which are used traditionally based on the therapeutic properties against various skin care/ disease has been selected for this study. The different herbal ingredients such as Aloe vera and Dacus Carota, saffron and avocado oil, clove oil, Nardostachys jatamansi were used extensively as a cosmetic for skin care. This review aimed to study the various formulation and evaluation parameters in the herbal based cream used for moisturizing, nourishment and treatment of different skin issues such as wrinkle, acne, dry skin and microbial diseases.
