The Using of Ethanol and Isopropyl Alcohol as a disinfectant: Review

Author: , THUALFAKAR HAYDER HASAN, HUSSEIN ALI KADHUM, KASIM KADHIM ALASEDI
Abstract: Inactivation or removal by chemical agents of microorganisms causing disease is called chemical disinfection. Includes viruses, bacteria and protozoans that are pathogenic micro-organisms causing disease. "alcohol" refers in the healthcare environment into two water soluble chemical compounds (ethyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol) with general germicidal properties undervalued. Protein denaturation is the most plausible interpretation of alcohol's antimicrobial activity. The finding that absolute dehydrating ethyl alcohol is less bactericidal than alcoholic mixtures due to water assisted in this mechanism, when the proteins are denatured more rapidly in the event of water.
