Prevalence of Autism can range from approximately 1 in 100 children and the symptoms can be classified in numbers and types. ASD includes a class of disorders that characterizes with a wide range of defects. Within the wide category of defects, autism is predominant and the symptoms differ in wide variance. Normally children were classified as mild, moderate and severe. The aim of the current study was to establish an individualized treatment protocols and to examine the individual differences, assessing the appropriate outcome measures and to evaluate the impact of sensory integration (SI) therapy in children with autism. Children of age 5–10 years were included in the research and randomly divided into fine motor and SI treatment group. Social responsiveness, sensory processing, functional motor skills, and social–emotional factors were assessed at the baseline and after 4weeks of sensory integration therapy. Results of the study adds evidence that positive impact was scored and documented over Goal Attainment Scaling scores for both groups of children with autism. But there is a statistically significant improvement obtained in SI group, and also there is a significant decrease in autistic mannerisms.
