This study highlights the 12 months follow up of the developmental trends in children with developmental coordination disorder. The developmental trends in executive function skills were examined. Children of age group 5 to 7 years were included in the study and inclusion criteria was set at including children with and without motor coordination impairments. Secondary aim of the current study was to examine the academic skills of children with and without DCD. The results suggests that children with DCD had significant difficulty in executive functioning and exhibit difficulty in coordinating tasks that demands motor coordination skill. When compared with typically developing peer group children, children with DCD exhibits poor academic skill and experiences extensive trouble at the beginning of primary schooling. Shifting performance was considerably lower than children without motor coordination impairments. As a result of inhibition defect there is a widespread combined cognitive and motor problem. Further intervention should focus on individual ability of the child.
