Removal of crown and bridges are done in condition when given prosthetics failed or when RCT treatment failed. The main aim of this review of literature is to provide a summary of the various crown removal techniques used in dentistry. A thorough literature search was performed using databases like Pubmed database using the keywords ‘ Crown removal’ ,and ‘Dentistry’ with no date and year restrictions. The language is restricted to English. 7 articles with similar data have been found which were analysed and have been included in this study and a mind map was made using the Xmind app. 9 Methods for crown removal were found and have been discussed in detail in this review. The evidence supporting the efficacy of each method has not been established in any study till date and bears further research and inspection. The various methods described in this review have been used by many practitioners world over to varying degrees of success. There is no outcome based research determining the efficacy of any one method since the only clinical outcome expected is the removal of the prostheses. This review attempts to compile all the methods of crown removal into an anthology for clinical reference.
