In a complete denture procedure, the denture trial is the last stage in which modifications can be accommodated to ensure a proper fabrication of the complete denture. To ensure that the trial procedure goes well, the previous verification of jaw relation records should be emphasized. The reason behind this is because this process overall aids in the maintenance of physiologic and anatomic health of tissues. The aim of this study is to evaluate the incidence in which jaw relation was re-established during the complete denture trial. A total of 289 patients who have completed their complete denture treatment was evaluated. Their age, gender, method of centric relation, freeway space and the success of complete denture trial was obtained from patient records at Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals from June 2019 to March 2020. Out of all 289 complete denture cases, 18.7% had to undergo repeated jaw relation procedures while a majority of 81.3% had a successful complete denture trial in one setting. Within the limits of our study, 18.7% of complete denture trials failed resulting in a repetition of the trial procedure. The success rate of a complete denture trial is the highest when the freeway space is 2-3mm and the nick & notch method is used.
