Children with congenital heart disease (CHD) are exposed to many oral diseases and health risk factors. With all other medical care for the children , in many cases oral care is not given much importance by the parents. The aim of this study was to evaluate the dental caries experience in children with Congenital heart disease. Dental status of children with Congenital heart disease visiting Saveetha dental college was collected from the patient records. Totally 7 children had the history of Congenital heart disease. Their DMFT score was calculated and charted. They were categorised into 2 age groups and the mean DMFT score based on gender was 9.75±4.65 for males and 3.33±1.16 for females. The Mean DMFT score is more in male children than female children. Also the mean DMFT score for both the age groups were almost the same 7±4.58 for <7 years and 7±4.08 for >7 years age group. Poor oral health prevalent among these children indicates a lack of sound knowledge of maintenance of oral hygiene. Following proper oral hygiene habits and other preventive measures should be considered for the children .
