Optimization Model Improving Teacher Job Satisfaction Through Strengthening Empowerment, Team Work, And Health Personality

Author: SRI SETYANINGSIH, WULAN WIDANINGSIH, SUPARNO EKO WIDODO
Abstract: Teacher job satisfaction is an important element related to the achievement of educational goals in Indonesia, namely to produce quality human resources, both in terms of science, knowledge, skills, and personality. Preliminary survey results indicate that the job satisfaction situation of teachers in private junior high schools in Bogor Regency is still not as expected. Therefore, the teacher's job satisfaction is interesting to study. The purpose of the research is to find ways to increase teacher job satisfaction through the development of models that can be used to strengthen empowerment, teamwork, and personality. The research method uses path analysis to determine the strength of influence of exogenous variables, namely empowerment, personality, and teamwork, on endogenous variables, namely job satisfaction. The SITOREM method is then used to optimize the improvement of indicators to strengthen the studied variables. The path analysis results show that empowerment, personality, and teamwork have direct and indirect positive effects on teacher job satisfaction. The results of the analysis using the SITOREM method show that 20 indicators are still weak so that they need to be improved and 5 indicators that are already good so that they can be maintained. The indicators that need to be improved are the priority order of handling as follows: 1). self-determination, 2). performance standards, 3). delegation of authority, 4). sense of impact, 5). awards, 6). tolerance of failure, 7). the clear role, 8). communication, 9). cooperation, 10). encouragement, 11). positive expectations, 12). pleasant nature, 13). emotional stability, 14). extraversion, 15). listen to your heart, 16). security, 17). payroll, 18). promotion, 19). leadership appreciation, and 20). working conditions. Indicators that are already good and just need to be maintained are 1). the effort to understand, 2). group spirit, 3). Openness, 4). achievement, and 5). co-workers. From the results of the path analysis for the variables studied and the analysis of indicators using the Sitorem method, an optimization model is obtained from increasing job satisfaction.
