The modern architecture of the evolving digital economy and consequences of the epidemiological situation have created the conditions for the development of peer-to-peer lending. It is confidently possible to talk about strengthening of peer-to-peer lending positions in the Russian market. The growing demand for this financial product is associated, first of all, with the urgent need for economic entities to obtain additional sources of financing, but the use of this modern product is associated with a certain number of risks.
Peer-to-peer lending does not have its own risks, but specific features and certain characteristics of their existence are revealed. It is important for economic entities not only to know the risks of peer-to-peer lending, but also to be able to manage them through planning, building analytical forecasts and developing measures to prevent and reduce risks.
The purpose of this study is to describe the features of the implementation of the risks associated with peer-to-peer lending in the modern digital architecture of financial markets, and the active development of innovative FINTECH products on financial markets.
As a result of the study, it became possible to carry out a typology of risks that form the basis of the scenario development of peer-to-peer lending risks: legal, credit, interest, reputational, commercial, financial and technological risks, fraud and money laundering risks, online banking operational risks, cyber-attacks, data storage and processing risks, as well as insufficient verification of transaction subjects and falsification of information.
