Pharmaceutical approach towards complications occurs due to Drug interactions in critically ill patients. To identify drug interactions in critically ill patient. To identify various aspects that can improve the complications caused by Drug interactions in patient admitted in critical care units.Cases were collected from ICU and prescriptions were assessed with help of Micromedex and Medscape drug interaction checker. In the next step complication of drug interaction has been resolved with help of various pharmaceutical approach used in research articles and databases. Management may include drug dose reduction, drug removal, administration of alternative drug, change in drug rout and other techniques etc.In this study 29 prescriptions were included in which total 122 drug interactions was found. The reason behind such a high number of drug interactions can be correlated with, multi drug therapy, frequent drug administration, huge load on nursing staff mostly related to drug administration in multiple patients, furthermore it was found that there is huge gap of knowledge in between doctors as well as in nursing staff related to drug compatibility with either drugs or dissolving solvents. The identified drug interactions were managed accordingly with the help of various pharmaceutical techniques. This study is concluding that multiple factors are responsible for the drug interaction related complications in the critically ill patients. All such complication cannot be treated at once with single intervention, there is a requirement of constant monitoring of patient drug therapy along with frequent adjustment in patient therapy till it lasts.
