Introduction: Bone degenerative disorder results in osteoporosis unless being taken care of in the initial stage. Also, osteoporosis is a silent disease that will be observed only when the fragile bones undergo a fracture or a hairline crack. Drugs given for treating the disease often have side effects. Hence, alternative measures are searched for. Medicinal plants are exploited for their therapeutic applications.
Objective: The present work analyzes the osteoporotic potential of the endophyte Alangiumsalvi folium using computational methods.
Methods: The interactions of the components of endophytes with the target protein are studied using Discovery Studio 2.0. Pharmacophore analysis is also done.
Results: The interaction of the two components kaempferol and quercetin with the target protein has been analyzed using computational methods. Also, kaempferol shows more stable interaction with the target protein.
Conclusion: The compound kaempferol is expected to have more potential as an anti-osteoporotic behavior than quercetin.
