Factor Analysis of Third Trimester Pregnant Women Readiness in Preparing for Childbirth: A Cross-Sectional Study

Abstract: Childbirth is a physiological process experienced by the mother when the pregnancy is full-term. Still, it does not rule out the possibility of various problems that cause the labor process to be a pathological condition. Childbirth readiness is the planning process for normal labor and anticipation of actions needed in emergencies. This study aims to determine the factors associated with labor readiness. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The population as third-trimester pregnant women. The sampling technique with used a total sampling of 78 pregnan women the technique of collection data with a questionnaire. The data analysis technique using the statistics test Gamma and Fisher. The results of the analysis showed that there was no relationship between social support (p-value 0.863), selection of health workers (p-value 0.346), pregnancy planning (p-value 0.606), and maternal psychological conditions (p-value 0.117) with labor readiness. It is expected that pregnant women prepare their labor more in order to minimize the occurrence of complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
